The DNA of a Super VIP Dad

El ADN de un Padre Super VIP

Paulinas Colombia |

A tribute to those who lovingly embrace the vocation of being parents

On the occasion of Father's Day in our country, Colombia, we wish to pause and contemplate with gratitude and reverence those men who, beyond a biological function or a cultural responsibility, have embraced a divine vocation: that of being a father in God's image. And at Paulinas, we wish to pay tribute to those who, with quiet faithfulness, are building the world from the heart of the home.

A DNA that is inherited from the Father in Heaven

Being a father isn't just a role. It's a way of loving, a silent language written with everyday gestures. The DNA of a true father isn't just in his genes, but in his decisions and choices. A Super VIP father is one who carries in his soul the imprint of the Heavenly Father, the source of all love.
In her spiritual DNA there is faith, tenderness, strength, listening, discipline that educates, arms that protect, silences that teach. Her authority does not impose: it inspires. Her presence does not shout: it accompanies. Her life does not shine in shop windows: it wears itself down in secret, like the grain of wheat that bears fruit in the family furrow.

Parents who evangelize through their lives

When a father prays, he blesses his children's lives. When he forgives, he reveals the face of God. When he teaches with patience, he sows the seeds of eternity. In every gesture, one can glimpse the love with which our Heavenly Father cares for us all.
As Saint Paul said, “The love of Christ compels us” (2 Corinthians 5:14) , and that love is the compass by which many parents guide their vocation and mission, even when no one applauds them. And they, without speeches, show that to love is to give one's life each day.

The everyday art of being a parent

There is a hidden holiness in those parents who rise early to provide for their families, who learn to change diapers, who listen to a rebellious child without running away, who pray for their children even if they don't know it. Those parents who endure illness with patience and courage, without revealing their pain to their children, so as not to cause them worry. They are parents who don't need a cape or a magazine cover: their strength lies in their love for their home.

They are Super VIP parents, not because of power or prestige, but because they are “brave, intimate and present”:

  • Brave , because they do not give up their role even in difficult times.
  • Intimate , because they know the soul of their children beyond appearances.
  • Present , because they know that the deepest love is shown with time and real presence.

A work to look upon with gratitude

From this perspective comes the work "The DNA of a Super VIP Father" , a proposal that does not intend to define the perfect father, but to celebrate the real, human, sometimes broken, but profoundly fruitful path of so many fathers who day by day respond to the call to be a reflection of God's love.

It's a book that offers illuminating words, comforting experiences, and encouraging biblical passages. It's not just about reading it, but about allowing yourself to be touched by what each page evokes: the sacred art of being a Dad.

Thank you, Dad!

Thank you for being our firm ground and refuge. Thank you for fighting without giving up, for being a wordless comfort, for shaping us with your life. Thank you because from you we learn that what's important in life is to act with dignity and be responsible for our actions. You teach us that each day must be lived to the fullest, enjoying and being grateful for everything as if it were our last.

Thanks to you, we know how valuable it is to share time with family and how important it is to stay united no matter what difficulties we may face. Thanks to you, dear Dad, we recognize that love is shown through concrete actions more than words.

Today, from Paulinas, we offer a prayer in your name:

Lord Jesus,
Living Word of the Father,
We praise you for the gift of parents:
simple, brave men, sowers of hope
that, in the silence of each day,
They reflect the true face of your love.

You, who called on Saint Joseph to watch over your childhood
with tenderness and strength,
Bless all the fathers of the world today:
those who pray and suffer in secret,
those who work tirelessly,
Those who educate, correct, forgive, and dream for their children.

Strengthen them in the faith,
constant in hope,
and ardent in charity.
That their presence in the home
be like a lit lamp,
like a rock in the middle of the sea,
like an open Gospel at the table every day.

Mary, Mother and Queen of the Apostles,
Teach them to cherish life with tenderness
and guide her with wisdom.
Intercede for them,
so that each day they may become more like the Father in heaven,
From whom all fatherhood in heaven and on earth derives.

Amen.
