Pope Francis: Life is always worth living, even when everything seems to be fading away.

Papa Francisco: La vida siempre es digna de ser vivida, incluso cuando parece que todo se apaga

Pope Francis posted a hopeful message on social media, stressing that life “is always worth living” and that God “never abandons us.”

“Life is always worth living; there is always hope for the future, even when everything seems to be fading away,” the Holy Father emphasized.

He also reiterated that "our existence is a unique gift, both for ourselves and for others" and affirmed that "God never abandons us; in fact, He knows how to listen, rejoice, and weep with us."

The Holy Father has emphasized the value of human dignity on numerous occasions throughout his pontificate.

In August 2016, he dedicated his catechesis during a General Audience to reflecting on the dignity of persons, and he has often urged Catholics to especially value the dignity of the poor and needy.

It is worth remembering that Pope Francis specifically asked the Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) to prepare a document on this fundamental topic.

For this reason, in April of this year the Vatican published the document Dignitas Infinita, in which it warns of 13 serious violations of human dignity.

This is also not the first time the Holy Father has reminded the faithful that Jesus "never abandons us." He stated this during the Angelus prayer on June 23rd.

From the window of the Vatican's Apostolic Palace, the Pontiff asserted that "Jesus does not spare us from setbacks, but without ever abandoning us, he helps us face them."

He has also repeatedly emphasized the importance of maintaining hope despite the difficulties and challenges of today.

He stated this during the Second Vespers of the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord in May of this year, when he declared that we all need hope, especially "in a world marked by excessive despair."
